Gayle Lehman (studio owner)
Gayle started practicing Pilates in the Spring of 2004 and has believed in this style of work every moment since. Not only is Gayle and enthusiastic spokesperson for how Pilates can change the shape of one's body, she more importantly loves how it can keep a person moving throughout their entire life.
During the Summer of 2005, Gayle chose to further her study of Pilates and enrolled in the teacher-training at Pendleton Pilates and began a long journey of further education in this style of movement. Gayle earned her mat and reformer training from Pendleton Pilates in December 2005. She also completed training modules through Balanced Body for Mat 1, Reformer 1 and Movement Principles, Reformer 2, and Reformer 3, as well as Anatomy in 3D. Gayle earned her Burn at the Barre certification several years ago and completed Booty Barre™ training in February of 2015.
Gayle attended Pilates on Tour in Chicago during the fall of 2015 to seek out the two-day pre-conference training or the YUR Back exercise program created by Dr. Christine Romani-Ruby. She found this content to be incredibly informative and useful to her clients so she attended the YUR Back training for a second time at Pilates on Tour the following year.
Gayle has also attended Stott Pilates workshops, as well as Balanced Body EXO Chair training with Nico Gonzalez. When time allows, Gayle attends the Balanced Body on Tour conferences (in addition to what's mentioned above, she attended this conference in 2007, 2012, and 2017), which has opened up opportunities for Gayle to learn from Lolita San-Miguel, Alan Herdman, Karen Clippenger, Christine Romani-Ruby, Valentin, Elizabeth Larkham, and the late Julian Littleford, some of the most well-known names in the Pilates industry. Gayle loves taking the time to continue her knowledge in education courses that are rooted in Pilates-style movement knowing it helps to enhance the health, well-being, and overall experience of the clients of The Pilates ConneXion.
Kelly has been teaching Pilates since 2000, completing her training at Pendleton Pilates. Not only is Kelly a Pilates instructor, she has been a dance teacher since 1994 and belongs to the Dance Educators of America.
Kelly is also a fitness instructor, a realtor and devoted mom and wife. You can certainly tell that Kelly loves working with people and helping them with moving their bodies in different types of movements.
Kelly has continued her Pilates training through the years, most recently completing the Balanced Body EXO chair course and attended the Balanced Body Pilates on Tour which encompasses instruction from master Pilates teachers from around the country and world, and was able to take classes from Alan Herdman, Troy McCarty and the late Julian Littleford.
After suffering knee and shoulder injuries I was referred to Pilates reformer and have not stopped since. The low impact of Pilates combined with it being a full body workout led me to not only recover but to pursue my teaching certification. After teaching Jazzercise for 20 years, the transition to teaching Pilates seemed to be a natural next step.
Teaching Pilates provides me with the opportunity to not only help others achieve a better quality of life, but also to pass along my love of exercise in the hopes that they achieve the same results as I have.
Angie Melzer (studio owner)
Pilates has helped me realize a body awareness that I did not know existed within me. I want to share this positive experience with others. Teaching and sharing this mindful and intentional practice and helping others understand their bodies and find out what they are capable of achieving is truly my enthusiasm. It is exciting to share with others a wonderful means of strengthening muscles while increasing flexibility, and best of all a completely enjoyable full body workout.
Angie completed her teacher training from the Pendleton Pilates Teacher Certification program in the summer of 2006, and has continued her love of Pilates with training in the Balanced Body EXO Chair in 2010, Burn at the Barre certification in the fall of 2011, Balanced Body Anatomy in 3D, Balanced Body Reformer 1 & Movement Principles in 2014.
Angie has attended Stott Pilates Workshops as well as continuing education workshops whenever possible taking classes from Alan Herdman, Madaline Black, Karen Clippenger and the late Julian Littleford.
Tammy is a summer of 2006 Pendleton Pilates Teacher graduate as well as our go to person for clients with low back issues, after having surgery on her back a few years ago. Tammy’s doctor was so impressed with her recovery after back surgery because of her Pilates practice that he has referred clients to come to our studio to begin doing Pilates.
Tammy completed the training for the Balanced Body EXO chair in 2010, and took the Low Back Dysfunction course through Balanced Body and became a Pilates Sports Center certified teacher for Burn at the Barre in 2011.
She also attended the Balanced Body Pilates on Tour which encompasses instruction from master pilates teachers from around the country and world taking a course from the late Julian Littleford. Tammy completed the Balanced Body Reformer 1 & Movement Principles in 2014.
Pilates has been a very efficient and profoundly effective exercise for me personally. Having retired after 27 years in education, pursuing another type of teaching certification seemed logical, so I enrolled in the Pendleton Pilates Teacher Training Program.
Teaching Pilates provides me an opportunity to help others experience the life changing benefits of this unique style of exercise. In the fall of 2017 Jackie attended her first Pilates on Tour Conference in Chicago to further enhance her Pilates teaching and understanding of the method.
